Zachary Kertesz, born in Unity, Maine, grew up in a home powered by the sun, lacking anything resembling a television. Rarely a day passed in which he was not outside imaginatively exploring the great outdoors. Beginning at an early age, he was exposed to the wonders of 35mm photography, even having the privilege to experience darkroom time. Several years later, the spark again was reignited when he once again held a camera, this time magnetic tape replaced film and through its lens it captured motion.
Zachary migrated west in August of 2008 to pursue his passion for film at the Art Institute of Portland in Oregon. The spark of flim has ignighted and grown into an all consuming fire. While attending school, Zachary has had the privilege to work on many high profile projects, Viral marketing campaign for Adidas, Television shows for ABC, TLC and LOGO networks Web media for Portland Farmers Market, As well as a plethora of short films, music videos, ad campaigns as well as live event coverage. Through these experiences, he has had the opportunity to explore many methods of storytelling and both the art form and a creative medium of film making.
